Privacy and Cookie Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and how we use cookies. Last updated 28 October 2026.

Who we are

golivenaija.com and the client area at app.golivenaija.com are run by GoLive Digital Solutions Company Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria (“GoLive”, “we”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. We handle it in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the directives of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Questions about this policy or your data: email contact@golivenaija.com or call +234 802 432 4678.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form and messages. Your name, email address, the subject and your message, so we can reply. If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we keep that conversation for the same reason.
  • Domain searches. The domain names you type into a search box, so we can check whether they are available. We send the name to domain registries and lookup services to get an answer.
  • Your client account. When you register or order, we collect your name, company, address, phone number and email, and keep records of your services, invoices, payments and support tickets. We need these to provide what you ordered, bill you and support you.
  • Domain registrations. Registries require the registrant’s name and contact details for every domain. We pass these to the registry or registrar for each domain you register or transfer.
  • Payments. Card and bank payments are handled by Paystack. We receive confirmation that a payment was made; we do not see or store your full card number.
  • Security logs. Our servers record technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the site secure and to investigate abuse.

We process this data to provide services you asked for (contract), to meet legal duties such as keeping tax and accounting records (legal obligation), to keep our systems secure (legitimate interest), and, for non-essential cookies and marketing, only with your consent.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only where it is needed to provide our services:

  • Paystack, to process payments.
  • Domain registries and registrars, to register, renew and transfer domains.
  • Providers of products you order through us, such as Microsoft 365, SSL certificates and website security tools, to set up your service.
  • Cloudflare, to protect our contact form from spam.
  • The data centre providers that host our servers.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. Where they do, we rely on the grounds for cross-border transfers allowed under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We group them into three categories. Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work securely without them. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off unless you allow them, and you can change your choice at any time.

Analytics and marketing: we do not use any analytics or marketing cookies at the moment. If we add them, they will only load after you allow that category, and we will list them here.

When you make a cookie choice we keep a record of it (a random ID, your choice and the time, with no name or IP address) so we can show what was agreed.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. Account, invoice and payment records are kept for as long as Nigerian tax and accounting law requires. Messages sent through the contact form are kept while we deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete data we no longer need.

How we protect it

Our sites use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access to customer data is limited to staff who need it, and payments are handled by Paystack rather than on our servers.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your data, where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
  • restrict or stop using your data, or object to how we use it;
  • send your data to you or another provider in a commonly used format;
  • withdraw any consent you have given, which does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Email contact@golivenaija.com to make a request. Customers can also update most account details themselves in the client area. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. If a change affects your cookie choices, we will ask you again.

Our Terms of Service and Terms of Use also apply when you use our services.
